Self Sufficiency at Fosen Folk High School
Live off the land. Tear yourself away from mulitnational companies, advertizing, and politics. Feel the freedom that standing on your own two feet provides.
You choose not just a course at Fosen FHS, you choose a whole school. Much of what we do at school deals with self sufficiency: teaching yourself skills of all sorts, tricks and clever ways of doing things. Many people are suprisced at just how much we return to the basics at Fosen, in a time when so much around us is made by someone else.
Why Self Sufficiency?
It's good for the world:
The world doesn't need more consumers, we believe that everyone who can should grow their own food, use less, throw away less, fish more. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Repair.
It's good for you:
People were not created for a life infront of a screen. It's healthy and wholesome to work with both your mind and your hands. You will change, mentally, through mastering a craft or skill, by doing and practicing it. It will give you calm, and allow you to care for yourself.
Self sufficiency is on its way in. One of Scandanavia's most popular TV-shows is Bonderøven, or the Farming Jackass. The host is Frank Erichsen, he was a student at Fosen FHS. You should try out Fosen too.
